With New Around-the-Clock Axes, Practitioners Can Fit Majority of Your Astigmatic Patients in  Premium Silicone Hydrogel 1-Day Toric Contact Lenses

RICHMOND HILL, ON., Jun 30, 2021— To provide eye care professionals the opportunity to fit an even greater number of astigmatic patients in a premium silicone hydrogel 1-day contact lens, CooperVision has announced expanded prescriptions for MyDay® toric in Canada. The lenses are now available in around-the-clock axes1 in the most commonly prescribed sphere powers.

“CooperVision is known around the world for our toric contact lens innovation and performance. The addition of new MyDay® toric prescription options expands our commitment to providing a wide range of stable fit, comfortable silicone hydrogel 1-day toric options for astigmatic patients,” said Amy Chow, Professional Affairs Manager, Canada. “And for practitioners who know and love Biofinity® toric, they have the flexibility to offer their patients those ocular benefits replicated in a 1-day lens—it’s the features of one optic design with two options.”

CooperVision’s MyDay® toric lenses combine the proven optic design features of Biofinity® toric with the premium silicone hydrogel 1-day material of MyDay®. This revered toric technology, called Optimized Toric Lens Geometry, provides uniform horizontal ISO thickness, an optimized ballast band design, a large toric optic zone, and a smooth, continuous surface to make it an easy-to-fit, stable toric lens. In addition, the MyDay® family of lenses is made with Aquaform® Technology, which locks moisture into the lens and keeps it soft for a comfortable lens-wearing experience. This natural wettability can help wearers’ eyes feel less dry without coatings or surface treatments. And while the lens provides optimal comfort, it remains strong enough to ensure exceptional handling. 2,3  MyDay® toric’s built-in UV blocker filters 85% of UVA and 96% of UVB rays*.

Eye care professionals will be able to fit a greater number of 1-day toric patients in MyDay® toric with the addition of the following prescription options (in bold):
