Innovation Combines Advanced Silicone Hydrogel Material with  Proven ActivControl® Technology.*1

Rochester, NY, August 3, 2026 — CooperVision Canada today announced the launch of MyDay® MiSight® 1 day contact lenses, its latest innovation with ActivControl® Technology designed to slow the worsening of myopia in children.†2,3 The new product combines the advanced silicone hydrogel material of MyDay® lenses with the proven ActivControl® Technology found in original MiSight® 1 day lenses.*1

Enrique Contreras, Country Manager at CooperVision Canada, explained the significance of the launch: “One in two children born today could have myopia by the age of 20.4 As a parent, I truly understand how myopia can significantly impact their quality of life, making it harder to participate in school, sports and other activities.5,6 Myopia can worsen rapidly, especially in younger children. That’s why early intervention matters so much.7

Our commitment to tackling myopia continues to be unwavering. With MyDay® MiSight® 1 day, we’ve brought together the advanced silicone hydrogel material found in our MyDay® contact lenses with the life-changing potential of myopia control.*1

The company’s ActivControl® Technology has been shown to cut the worsening of myopia by approximately 50% and is backed by the longest-running soft contact lens clinical trial among children.†‡2,3 More than a quarter of a million children worldwide now wear contact lenses featuring this technology.8 The lens design incorporates vision correction zones and treatment zones  to provide clear vision while helping to control the worsening of myopia.‡1,3,9

The new product offers better comfort and handling features compared with original MiSight® 1 day:§♢9

  • Preferred for comfort compared to the original MiSight® 1 day§9

  • Up to four times the oxygen transmissibility of a hydrogel one-day lens

  • Built-in UV blocker**

  • Rated easier to insert compared to the original MiSight® 1 day.♢9

Nathalie Trottier, Senior Manager, Professional Affairs at CooperVision Canada, added: “This innovation delivers ‘always-on’ myopia control—children benefit from treatment throughout the day, simply by wearing their contact lenses.††3,9,10 It’s also designed to help support a smooth transition from myopia management to adult lens wear, thanks to its shared material and specifications with MyDay® lenses.‡‡

To support eye care professionals, CooperVision offers a suite of business tools including OptiExpert™, the Axial Length Estimator and QuickStart program—all available at no cost. In-practice marketing materials are also available on request. §§♢♢

INDICATIONS: The MyDay MiSight 1 day (stenfilcon A) Soft Contact Lenses for Myopia Control are indicated for the correction of ametropia (myopia and hyperopia) in aphakic and non-aphakic persons with non-diseased eyes in powers from -20.00D to +2.00 diopters. The lenses may be worn by persons who exhibit astigmatism of -2.00 diopters or less that does not interfere with visual acuity. MyDay MiSight 1 day (stenfilcon A) Soft Contact Lenses for Myopia Control may reduce the rate of myopia progression in children (6-18) and correct ametropia. Reduction of myopia progression was observed in children with wearing time of 12 hours (8-16 hours) per day, 6.4 days (5-7) per week in a clinical study of MiSight 1 day (omafilcon A) containing identical dual focus optics to that of MyDay MiSight 1 day (stenfilcon A). Permanent myopia control after lens treatment is discontinued is not supported by clinical studies. MyDay MiSight 1 day (stenfilcon A) Soft Contact Lenses for Myopia Control are indicated for single use daily disposable wear. When prescribed for daily disposable wear, the lens is to be discarded after each removal.
* Proven to slow myopia progression in children compared to a single vision 1-day lens over a 3-year period
